Religious Activities

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament within OLV Church is available every First Friday of the month.

An All School Mass is celebrated weekly, with all students in attendance, PreK-4 through 8.  During the school year, the All School Mass will be held every Wednesday at 8:15 a.m.

Altar Servers     Serving during the sacrifice of the Mass is an activity eligible to both males and females at OLV.

Camp WOW is a 4-day and 3-night summer camp for middle school students (grades 6, 7, and 8), sponsored locally by OLV and several other parishes.  The most recent event was held Tuesday, June 28, through Friday, July 1, 2011, at Dickson Valley Camp in Newark, Illinois.  The $225 fee provided for housing and food, as well as swimming, canoeing, archery, Bible study, campfire, indoor gym, climbing wall, hiking, prayer, sports, music, worship, skits, crafts, camaraderie, and memories to last a lifetime.

"Here I Am, Lord!" is the title of a Vocations Conference, organized regularly by Mike Zak, a Parish Director of Youth Ministry.  On March 4, 2011, the Junior High students of the OLV Junior High participated in the "Here I Am, Lord!" National Vocations Conference held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in St. Charles, Illinois. The next trip for our Junior High students will be on March 2, 2012.  For more information, please go to www.hereiamlord.net.

Mass Krew VII     The seventh school year of weekly Tuesday Mass at 6:30 a.m. held in the School Chapel of Hope began October 19, 2010.  Each week a group of devoted students, parents, and OLV parishioners celebrate early morning Mass with the pastor, and then they enjoy food and fellowship in the School Hall before the school day begins.

Rocked by God is an annual and special two-day overnight retreat, managed locally by OLV parents, and organized by Mike Zak, the Director of Youth Ministry at St. Patrick's Church in St. Charles.  Rocked by God has been held annually at OLV since the year 2000.  Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students from OLV and other elementary schools unite for a fun-filled weekend of praise and activities, with former OLV students who are now of high school and college age serving as small group leaders.  The most recent Rocked by God event at OLV was held on April 15-16-17, 2011.  The next Rocked by God event at OLV will be announced soon!

Rosary with the OLV community is available daily in the Upper Church following the 7:30 a.m. Mass.  The Rosary Club also meets to pray the Rosary after the Tuesday weekly 6:30 a.m. Mass Krew Mass.

Our OLV School Chapel of Hope was designed and constructed by our proud parents and students within a former classroom on the third floor of our school.  It is a calm space for meditation and prayer any time.

Stations of the Cross are held every Friday during Lent at the church at 2:15 p.m.  Parents and parishioners are welcome to attend the service, led by one of our parish priests.

Totus Tuus was most recently held at OLV on July 12-16, 2010. For more information about future events, just click on the Totus Tuus tab on the church section of the OLV web site, or visit totustuuschicago.com.

The Vocations Museum is a special room within the school, dedicated as a Vocations Museum to the Priests, Brothers, and Sisters from Our Lady of Victory Parish, who have responded to the call to serve the Lord through the religious life.
